Ukrainians in Geelong meet with Viva Refinery after AFUO-supported protest against russian ‘Blood Oil’ loophole #StopFuellingrussiasWar
Earlier this month, the Ardmore Sealion and Komorebi tankers – carrying blood oil made from russian crude in Mangalore refinery in India – docked in Geelong, prompting strong concern and immediate action from the Ukrainian community.

Committee Member of Association of Ukrainians in Victoria branch Ukrainians in Geelong – Українці в Джілонґу Luba Pryslak recently met with the General Manager of Geelong Viva Refinery.
The discussion was constructive, with Viva Refinery expressing openness to continued engagement with the Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organisations and Ambassador of Ukraine to Australia, HE Vasyl Myroshnychenko.
Well done to the Geelong Ukrainian community for their powerful and coordinated advocacy work – from protest action to meaningful dialogue. This is how change is made: by showing up, speaking out, and holding both industry and government to account.
Together, we keep pushing:
No more russian oil on Australian shores
No more russian oil sanctions loophole!
