With one of the largest single donations to the Defend Ukraine Appeal, the Ukrainian Association of Queensland – Oxley’s contribution of $125,000 allowed the AFUO to purchase life-saving equipment for 15 brigades across the frontline in Ukraine, including Donetsk, Kharkiv, Kerson, and Sumy regions.
UAQ – Oxley wanted to support Ukrainian defenders from Australia and were looking for a way to do it without paying any admin costs – they wanted every single dollar of their donation to go into the hands of Ukrainian servicemen who are bravely defending their homeland.
The Defend Ukraine Appeal provided the perfect solution – volunteers ensured that the full amount of the donation was used to purchase over 100 individual items of aid, with 0% overheads or admin costs.
The team fulfilled requests for non-lethal military aid, including evacuation vehicles, quad bikes, surveillance drone batteries, night vision devices, generators, Starlinks and medical supplies, which were submitted from our community members from six states and territories across Australia – ACT, NSW, QLD, SA, VIC, and WA.
This was a massive team effort – thank you to UAQ – Oxley for the generous donation and to our volunteers across our secure global supply chain for sourcing, purchasing, and delivering the aid to our frontline heroes!
