The AFUO warmly congratulates the Ambassador of Ukraine to Australia, Vasyl Myroshnychenko, for the medal he has received from the Minister of Defence of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov for his support for the brave defenders of Ukraine – the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
AFUO Co-Chairs Stefan Romaniw OAM and Kateryna Argyrou said today “We salute that together with his Embassy team, His Excellency Vasyl Myroshnychenko has been tireless in advocating for Ukraine’s military needs and building a partnership between Australia and Ukraine which has delivered steady military assistance.
“We thank the Ambassador for acknowledging the Australian-Ukrainian community in accepting the medal.
“Working closely together, the AFUO will continue to amplify the Embassy’s message requesting Australian Government military aid for Ukraine.
“Our members and volunteers, in all states of Australia, will also continue to raise funds for non-lethal military aid for brave defenders on the frontline via our Defend Ukrainian Appeal. And we will provide, as we have since 2014, humanitarian assistance via the Ukraine Crisis Appeal.
“With the Ambassador, we are all fighting not for awards, but for our common victory and a prosperous Ukraine,” they added.
