Ukraine destroys 34% of russia’s bomber fleet in the largest long-range drone strike of the war

June 2, 2025 by CYOA Administrator

The SBU (Security Service of Ukraine) just pulled off an incredibly bold, high-tech move. Over 117 FPV drones were smuggled into russia — hidden in trucks — and hit 5 air bases across the country, including one more than 4,000km from Ukraine’s border.

The result? — 41 russian bombers destroyed. That’s 34% of russia’s long-range fleet, worth around $10.9 billion.

Codenamed Spider Web, the operation took 18 months to plan and may have changed drone warfare forever.

“We will strike them at sea, in the air, on the ground — and underground if needed,” said the SBU.
