Ukraine at EURO-2024!

June 17, 2024 by CYOA Administrator

Ukraine has come out third in its qualifying group for EURO-2024, behind England and Italy and ahead of North Macedonia and Malta. Thanks to a successful campaign in the UEFA Nations League, Ukraine earned a qualifying play-off spot and after two intense play-off matches against Bosnia-Herzegovina & Iceland booked a place in the main tournament in Germany among the best 24 national teams.

Following the full-scale Russian invasion, Ukrainian sports teams and players on the international stage have been a powerful symbol of Ukraine’s resilience and determination.

“I think our successful performance gives our people positive emotions,” said Ukraine’s head coach Serhiy Rebrov.

“Before [the war], when you’re fighting on the pitch, you are thinking about the result. But I think all of us now are thinking about the result and about showing the real character of our country.”

The next 3 games will be decisive for our stars on the field. If Ukraine takes a first or a second place in their group against Romania, Slovakia and Belgium (or is among the best 4 third placed teams across all 6 preliminary groups), they will progress beyond the group stages of the tournament!

Go Team Ukraine!

Monday 17th June – Romania 🇷🇴 (11PM AEST)
Friday 21st June – Slovakia 🇸🇰 (11PM AEST)
Wednesday 27th June – Belgium 🇧🇪 (2AM AEST)
