The Queensland-based Sunshine & Sons has launched a special edition spirit – the General’s Friendship Gin – in support of Ukraine.
Sunshine & Sons is donating $34 from each bottle sold to help support Nathan Burrason’s campaign to raise funds for the purchase of metal detectors for humanitarian de-mining operations in Ukraine.
The General’s Friendship Gin initiative builds on the distillery’s previous launches of Kherson Liberation Gin and Patron Vodka, which were also dedicated to supporting humanitarian efforts.
To date, this collaboration has raised over $150,000 and will go a long way in ensuring safer environments for Ukrainians. It is estimated that between 30-40 per cent of Ukraine’s land has been mined by Russian troops, with 855 civilians being reported killed or hurt in 550 mine-related accidents.
