On 22 November in Melbourne the world’s largest Ukrainian flag was unfurled – not just as a celebration of unity, but as act of remembrance on Holodomor Commemoration Day.
As we honoured the millions of Ukrainians killed in the man-made famine of 1932-33, the unfurling of this monumental flag in Melbourne served as a powerful reminder: Ukraine has endured unimaginable tragedy before, yet its people continue to rise and fight for freedom against russia’s illegal and immoral invasion.
Thank you to the Association of Ukrainians in Victoria, volunteers, families, and supporters for creating such a meaningful moment – and to our partners at Razom for Ukraine for bringing this historic symbol to Australia.
Вічна пам’ять. Слава Україні!
