In August, Lieutenant Viktoriia “Malvina” Savkiv travelled from the frontline in Ukraine to Australia and visited our Ukrainian community in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.
Through direct engagement with communities and political leaders, and a strong media presence, her visit built momentum and support for Ukraine and amplified its urgent calls for air defence, military aid, and an end to the sanctions loophole on russian-origin oil.
Her visit was proudly hosted with the Ukrainian Community of Queensland Inc., the Ukrainian Council of NSW – ОУГ НПВ and the Association of Ukrainians in Victoria.
