On ANZAC day 25 April, we commemorate the lives and sacrifice of all members of the Australian and New Zealand armed forces who didn’t make it home to their families and friends. We remember and give thanks to those who gave their lives to uphold the values and freedoms we take for granted today in Australia.

We also take the time today to pay tribute to the brave Australians who have been killed fighting alongside their Ukrainian counterparts to defend Ukraine’s independence and international law since russia’s invasion.
Freedom is worth defending. The legacy of our ANZACs and the safety of our country and democracy is a testament to that.
Lest we forget.
