Tomorrow, people around the world will celebrate Ukraine’s Independence Day. Australia, known for its multiculturalism and diversity, provides the perfect backdrop for us to showcase the depth of our culture, cuisine, traditions, and the values for which we stand.
We encourage each of you to participate in a personal flash mob aimed at introducing your Australian friends to Ukraine. Here’s how you might do that:
- Host a Ukrainian Dinner: Invite your friends over and serve them traditional Ukrainian dishes like borscht and dumplings. For many Australians, this will be a novel and memorable culinary journey.
- Organize a Public Photo Shoot: Gather with your friends in embroidered shirts or hold signs in support of Ukraine. Share the photos across your social platforms.
- Teach Some Ukrainian: Introduce your Australian friends to a few Ukrainian words or even entire phrases.
- Attend a Community Event: Meet together at public events organised by the Ukrainian community in your area.
- Educate and Inform: Share videos and stories about our breathtaking country. Remember, the fight for democracy, rights, and freedom speaks a universal language.
