When a Space Has No Walls: How Caritas’ Mobile Teams Are Bringing Hope Across Kherson Oblast
In many frontline communities across the Kherson region, the constant threat of shelling makes it impossible to establish permanent Child-Friendly Spaces. But the needs of children and families don’t stop because of war—and neither does Caritas.
Ukraine Crisis Appeal is proud to support this life-changing work in partnership with RAWCS – Rotary Australia World Community Service and the Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organisations.
Caritas Kherson’s dedicated mobile teams travel directly to the communities where children and caregivers need them most. Several times each week, psychologists, social workers, activity leaders, lawyers, and crisis specialists deliver vital psychosocial support, educational and recreational activities, legal assistance, and practical help to families living under the daily threat of conflict.
This innovative approach ensures that even in the most dangerous areas, children have access to safe, supportive spaces—even if those spaces have no walls.
