This week, Ukrainians in Australia and around the world unite to remember the Holodomor – Stalin’s deliberate famine of 1932–33 that killed millions and sought to destroy the Ukrainian nation. The same cruelty that marked this genocide is echoed in russian aggression today, reminding us why truth, memory and justice must never fade.
As we honour the victims and support those in our community who carry this trauma across generations, we also stand firm in our commitment to remembrance.
We thank our hromady, churches and community leaders for organising vigils, prayers and commemorations nationwide.
On Saturday 22 November, we invite everyone to light a candle in memory of the victims of the Holodomor – a simple act of solidarity and a vow: Never Again.
