The Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organisations (AFUO) wishes a massive Happy Birthday to Viktor “Blacksmith”!
Our community was first introduced to our brave Ukrainian defender Viktor in October last year when he arrived in Australia to receive innovative osseointegration surgery, after losing both legs as a result of heavy enemy fire. He attended many community and fundraising events, interviewed with journalists, advocated for military and veteran aid, and formed many lifelong connections.
Viktor is now back in Sydney, undergoing intensive rehabilitation on his new legs.
Partnered with Atlas Global Aid, the AFUO’s FutureUkraine fund committed to raising $50,000 for Viktor’s prosthetics and recovery treatment. We are still about half way to our goal — any and all help is greatly appreciated!
Viktor has given everything for his country, for Ukraine’s rightful sovereignty and independence, and for the defence of democracy! Let’s show him our appreciation and make his birthday in Australia special.
