Meet Elina Svitolina, Ukraine’s most successful tennis player of all time, at a special gathering with the Ukrainian community in Melbourne on Friday 12 January at the Essendon Ukrainian Hall at 6:00pm!
In Australia to compete at the Australian Open, Elina is a true champion – on and off the court.
Since the start of the full-scale invasion, Elina has:
- actively encouraged Russian and Belarusian players to speak out against Moscow’s war of aggression in international competitions
- used her appearances at Wimbledon, Roland Garros, and other tournaments to advocate for Ukraine
- sought to unite the world’s sporting community to raise relief funds for Ukraine as an ambassador for the Ukrainian fundraising platform United24
The community meeting has been organised by the Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organisations (AFUO) and the Association of Ukrainians in Victoria (AUV).
