INVITATION TO JOIN THE AFUO HOLODOMOR 90th ANNIVERSARY NATIONAL SUB COMMITTEE
2023 marks the 90th anniversary of the Holodomor – an act of genocide in 1932-33.
The act of genocide continues today with Putin’s war in Ukraine.
The AFUO has commenced planning the anniversary and has prepared a detailed background paper and proposed motion requesting Federal and State Parliaments recognise the Holodomor as genocide.
The AFUO needs your help to ensure this crucial anniversary is commemorated in the Ukrainian and broader Australian communities. We invite community members to join a newly formed AFUO Holodomor 90th Anniversary National Sub Committee.
Purpose of the sub committee:
- advise the AFUO on Federal and state programs in Australia
- assist in delivering coordinated programs
- assist in launching the International Descendants of Holodomor Network
- advise on how to promote the Holodomor in mainstream media
- work with the Ukrainian World Congress International Holodomor Committee
