“Tanker fuels oil outrage” – Yesterday, members and supporters of the Ukrainian community in Sydney protested near the Kurnell refinery to urge the Government to close the russian oil sanctions loophole that’s sent more than $1.85 billion to Putin’s war chest.

And Australia heard us!
AFUO media engagement with Mark Dunn from the Herald Sun saw an article published this morning in the Herald Sun, Courier Mail and online, featuring our #StopFuellingrussiasWar protest. Read the article: https://bit.ly/4kveJiP
Backed by industry leaders like Andrew “Twiggy” Forrest and expert analysts like Mark Corrigan, the AFUO continues to call on the Government to close the legal loophole that allows russian-origin crude into Australia from third-party refineries.
“Our protest this weekend at Kurnell sends a clear message – Australians will not stay silent while russian war profits flow through our ports and into our petrol stations,” said AFUO Chair Kateryna Argyrou.
But the campaign doesn’t end with this rally. We need to keep the pressure on.
