The AFUO thanks Town of Port Hedland Mayor Peter Carter for his leadership in presenting a motion of no confidence in Councillor Adiran McRae at the recent special meeting of the Port Hedland Council.
While we are disappointed with the outcome, we were buoyed to see Councillors Time Turner and Ambika Rebello support this motion and show Adrian McRae that his actions do not reflect the vision, values and standards of behaviour expected of a Town of Port Hedland councillor.
Cr McRae’s support for the tyrant Putin and his ‘electoral processes’ are at odds with the majority of Australians and with Australian values. Cr McRae has shown total ignorance about the Russian system.
The AFUO is grateful to members of the Ukrainian community in Port Hedland for their advocacy and strength, and we look forward to continuing to work with the Council to ensure the diversity of Port Hedland is embraced.
