Order of Merit of the President of Ukraine awarded to Sydney community member Victor Kovalenko, Olympic gold medalist and Australia’s most celebrated sailing coach.
The AFUO extends its heartfelt congratulations on the very well-deserved recognition of Mr Kovalenko for his dedication, legendary coaching and mentoring of sailing athletes, and service to both Ukraine and Australia. Victor is a beloved member of the Ukrainian community in Sydney, along with his wife Tatiana and their family.
We sincerely thank Victor for his lifelong contribution and for being an outstanding example of how to represent one’s country while doing what you love.
