The School Student Broadband Initiative (SSBI) is a program designed by the Australian Federal Government to assist disadvantaged students access the internet by providing 30,000 families with 12 months of free NBN at home.
Is your family eligible to receive 12 months of free NBN internet service at home?
- Have a child living at home enrolled in an Australian school (Kindergarten to Year 12)
- Have not had an active National Broadband Network (NBN) internet service in the previous 14 days. Having a mobile internet service does not affect eligibility
- Live in a premises that can access a standard NBN service (this will be checked for you)
- Will undergo a suitability assessment conducted by the National Referral Centre (NRC)

We encourage all families with children to apply for the scheme. You can check your eligibility via the QR code.
Applications will remain open until 31 December 2024 (unless 30,000 families are enrolled before this date).
