On Sunday 4 August, liturgies and memorial services were held in Australia and around the world to commemorate the 40th day since Stefan Romaniw’s tragic, unexpected passing on June 26 2024.
In Australia, 22 liturgies and/or memorial services were held in capital cities and regional centres, with services also held in St Basil the Great Church in Kyiv (where Stefan would pray when in the Ukrainian capital), São Paulo, Brazil, and Athens, Greece.
Stefan’s death touched thousands; his steadfast and absolute dedication to advancing Ukraine’s victory, peace and prosperity was an inspiration to all.
Thank you to everyone who attended the services to pay their respects to this much-loved pillar of our community. We also thank the Victorian State Government again for holding a state funeral in his honour.
In mourning, we bid farewell…Stefan’s impact was profound and his example will continue to be a guiding force in our community and the global Ukrainian diaspora.
Eternal Memory. Вічна Памʼять.
