In early December 2024, a national delegation from the AFUO and state-based hromada organisations met with representatives from the Department of Home Affairs (DHA) to discuss progress of the transition to 851 Resolution of Status (RoS) visas for holders of 786 Temporary (Humanitarian Concern) visas.
The DHA reported that as at 4 December 2024:
- 3,566 displaced Ukrainians hold a 786 visa in Australia
- 1,227 displaced Ukrainians have been made an RoS visa offer
- 1,093 displaced Ukrainians have accepted the RoS visa offer
- 50 RoS visas have been granted, with an anticipated 200 more to be granted by the end of December 2024
The DHA estimates that all RoS visa offers will be issued by March/April 2025, with all RoS visas granted by end of May 2025.
The Ukrainian delegation raised concerns about initial challenges in the transition process (e.g. offers not being sent to all family members and priority requests not being actioned). The DHA apologised for these issues and said it was working to improve the process.

Оновлена інформація для громади щодо переходу на візи 851 Resolution of Status для тримачів віз 786 Temporary (Humanitarian Concern)
На початку грудня 2024 року, національна делегація Союзу українських організацій Австралії (СУОА) та громадських організацій штатів зустрілася з представниками Департаменту внутрішніх справ (ДВС), щоб обговорити процес переходу на візи 851 Resolution of Status для тримачів віз Temporary (Humanitarian) Concern 786.
ДВС повідомив, що станом на 4 грудня 2024:
- 3,566 переміщених українців є тримачами гуманітарної візи 786 в Австралії
- 1,227 з них отримали пропозицію переходу на візу RoS
- 1,093 прийняли пропозицію переходу на візу RoS
- 50 віз 851 було видано; очікується, що до кінця грудня 2024 буде видано ще 200 віз
ДВС розраховує, що всі пропозиції переходу до віз RoS будуть надіслані до березня/квітня 2025 року, а всі візи RoS будуть видані до кінця травня 2025 року.
Українська делегація озвучила питання щодо труднощів, які виникали у процесі переходу (наприклад, пропозиції не надсилаються всім членам сім’ї та не виконуються пріоритетні запити). ДВС приніс вибачення за ці початкові труднощі та зазначив, що буде проводитися робота по покращенню процесу.
