The AFUO would like to congratulate Ukrainian community member, Ivan Slavich, who has been appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in the Australia Day 2024 Honours List.
Ivan received his award for significant service to business, and to the community through governance and philanthropic endeavours. He has held senior roles within the energy and telecommunications sphere, the ACT Chamber of Commerce and Soldier On; raised funds for Movember and Camp Quality; and sat on Australian War Memorial and Ronald McDonald House Charities committees.
Ivan grew up in the Sydney Ukrainian community. He attended the St Andrew’s Ukrainian Catholic Church and community school, and was an active member of the Ukrainian Youth Association (CYM) and Zahrava dance ensemble. He was a director of the Ukrainian Cultural and Social Club 1991-1993.
Ivan has gone above and beyond to make a difference in Australian society and we are proud he has been recognised for his achievements.
