On 9 January, russia struck residential buildings and energy infrastructure, killing 4 civilians and injuring at least 25. Among the dead was a paramedic, killed in a double-tap strike as emergency crews responded. 32 people were rescued from the rubble.
The attack has left millions across Ukraine without power, heating, or water. In Kyiv alone, nearly half of all apartment buildings – around 6,000, home to almost half a million people – as temperatures drop below zero.
These egregious attacks are a deliberate attempt to terrorise civilians and freeze cities into submission.
Every russian claim of “readiness for dialogue” is exposed as a lie. Each talk of peace precedes another mass strike.
Ukraine urgently needs stronger air defence.
