💔 Our hearts are broken by yesterday’s deadly russian missile attack on historic Lviv, which killed the whole family of Yaroslav Bazylevych — his wife Evhenia (43) and three daughters Emilia (7), Daryna (18) and Yaryna (21).
The heinous attack follows a week of intense russian missile strikes against cities across Ukraine such as Poltava, Kyiv, Sumy, Dnipro, Kryvih Rih, Lutsk and Rivne. These strikes seek to traumatise, terrorise and kill civilians going about their daily lives — even children on their first day of school.
The Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organisations urges the 🇦🇺 Australian Government to support and advocate for the lifting of restrictions on Ukraine being able to strike back at russian military targets with long-range western weapons in the name of self-defence and deterrence.
Please help Ukraine to close its skies, resist terror and protect its people. Let Ukraine properly defend itself. We must not allow russian missile bases to have greater protection than Ukrainian civilians.
Australia can play an important role in helping Ukraine to bring these horrific, unspeakably cruel missile attacks to an end.
