The AFUO wants to thank our Australian-Ukrainian community – our member state hromady, Ukrainian-Australians and supporters – for their role in commemorating the 3rd year since russia’s full-scale invasion, and 11 years of russian aggression.
- 10 commemoration events organised by our state hromady in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Hobart, Darwin and Cairns
- An uplifting Ukraine Crisis Appeal “Undefeated Spirit” charity concert
- Memorial church services by the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Canberra and Ukrainian Catholic Church in Newcastle
We congratulate H.E. Vasyl Myroshnychenko, Ukrainian Ambassador, and Kateryna Argyrou, AFUO Co-Chair, for their powerhouse media conference held at Parliament House, Canberra, in the morning, which kicked off strong media coverage throughout the day.
The AFUO also marked the day by sending 262 letters to all federal members of parliament noting the grim milestone and urging continued support for Ukraine.
It has been a gruelling three years, but the unity and drive from our community is the backbone of the #StandWithUkraine campaign.
Thank you to every volunteer, community member, rally attendee or online supporter – you help us continue to speak out about russian aggression, and demand a just and fair peace for Ukraine.
