The AFUO joins call to condemn russia’s detention of Ukrainian scientist Dr Leonid Pshenychnov.
The Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organisations joins Ukraine’s Ambassador to Australia Vasyl Myroshnychenko in calling for the immediate release of Dr Leonid Pshenychnov – a respected Ukrainian scientist unjustly detained by russia in occupied Crimea.
Dr Pshenychnov has represented Ukraine for decades at the Conservation of Antarctic and Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR), headquartered in Hobart.
His arrest is a blatant violation of human rights and an attempt to silence Ukraine’s voice in global scientific collaboration.
Australia has expressed grave concern – now, we must ensure the world demands his freedom.
