The Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organisations (AFUO) extends its sincere gratitude to our state hromady and community organisations across Australia who organised and led commemorations marking four years since russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
Joining the global community and the Ukrainian World Congress – Свiтовий Конґрес Українців “Stand With Ukraine: Protect Future Generations” campaign, Ukrainian-Australians and supporters came together to honour the fallen, stand with Ukraine, and reaffirm our shared commitment to freedom, dignity, and sovereignty.
We know that the Ukrainian community in Victoria was with us in spirit. Their planned rally was cancelled following a request from VIC Emergency Services due to flash flooding.
We thank the Federal and State Government Ministers, Members of Parliament, and consular representatives who attended events across the country, standing alongside our community.
The AFUO acknow ledges the Prime Minister, the Hon Anthony Albanese MP, the Deputy Prime Minister, the Hon Richard Marles MP, and the Foreign Affairs Minister, Senator the Hon Penny Wong – Senator for SA for their statements reaffirming Australia’s support for Ukraine and commitment to holding russia accountable.
We also recognise and thank all who contributed donations. Funds raised will provide vital aid and support to communities in Ukraine.
Together, across cities and generations, our community stood united. Together, we continue to stand with Ukraine.
