Financial Reports

The Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organisations (AFUO) has represented the Ukrainian community in Australia for over 75 years. We are accountable to our member organisations, to our donors, and to the regulators we report to under Australian law.

Our Commitment to Transparency and Accountability

The AFUO is an incorporated not-for-profit organisation and registered Australian charity. We are regulated and accountable through a number of statutory and governance frameworks, including:

  • Consumer Affairs Victoria (CAV) as an incorporated association; and
  • The Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) – ABN: 40104855692

Our governance framework is established under the AFUO Constitution, which sets out the responsibilities of the Board, the rights of Members, financial management requirements, and reporting obligations. The Constitution also provides for the appointment of auditors and the presentation of the AFUO’s financial statements to Members for consideration and approval at the Annual General Meeting (AGM).

Financial Governance

All financial decisions are made collectively by the AFUO Board during formally convened Board meetings. Board meetings are conducted in accordance with the AFUO Constitution, with meeting minutes maintained to record discussions, resolutions and decisions. Financial decisions are only adopted and implemented once they have been approved by a majority vote of the Board, ensuring that no individual Director has sole authority over the AFUO’s financial affairs.

This collective decision-making process helps ensure that the AFUO’s resources are managed prudently and in the best interests of its Members, beneficiaries and stakeholders.

Independent Financial Oversight

The AFUO maintains a robust system of financial oversight which includes a dual process of internal and external review to ensure that all funds are managed responsibly and in accordance with Australian accounting and governance standards.

Each year:

  • The AFUO’s financial records are reviewed by the AFUO’s Internal Audit Committee.
  • The annual financial statements are independently audited by an external registered auditor.
  • The audited financial statements are presented to Members at the Annual General Meeting, where Members have the opportunity to ask questions and vote to adopt the reports in accordance with the AFUO Constitution.

Public Reporting

As a registered charity, the AFUO is required to submit its audited financial reports to the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC). These reports form part of the public record and are available for anyone to view through the ACNC Charity Register.

Annual Financial Reports

Copies of the AFUO’s audited Annual Financial Reports are publicly available via the ACNC. We have also provided links below for your convenience.
