Across Australia, communities marked 22 January with unity chains, vigils and rallies from Melbourne and Sydney to Brisbane, Canberra, Perth, Hobart and beyond.
As well as remembrance of the 1919 Act of Unification, these gatherings showed the strength of the Ukrainian people – united across borders, generations and cities as Ukraine continues to defend its sovereignty, democracy and freedom.
The Australian-Ukrainian community remains steadfast. Our voices are louder together. Our resolve is stronger together. Our future depends on unity.
The AFUO also joins the Ukrainian World Congress – Свiтовий Конґрес Українців call for Ukrainian organisations to sign the Declaration of Unity for 2026 – the Year of National Unity.
