🕯️ Thousands gather at Bondi Pavillion to mark one week since the terrorist attack on Sunday 14 December.
On Sunday 21 December 2025, the Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organisations (AFUO) was honoured to join in solidarity alongside members of our community, the wider Australian community, and affected families and loved ones of the victims of last Sunday’s horrific terrorist attack, targeted at the Jewish community.
In the face of hatred and violence, the gathering organised by the National Council of Jewish Women Australia and NSW, reflected the strength of unity, compassion and shared humanity that defines our multicultural society.
The Federal and NSW Governments have designated today a National Day of Reflection that includes flying flags at half-mast, observing a minute of silence, and lighting a candle at 6:47pm AEDT.
Last Sunday, the AFUO was also privileged to attend and light the Menorah at the Pillars of Light Chanukah festival in Melbourne, celebrating the Jewish community and recognising the Ukrainian community’s support.
May the memories of the innocent lives lost be eternal.
