The Ardmore Sealion and Komorebi tankers – carrying blood oil made from russian crude in Mangalore refinery in India – are docking in Geelong this week.
Every drop of russian-origin fuel helps fund Putin’s war machine through a sanctions loophole Australia still hasn’t closed. This is the same fuel that may be powering Australia’s Defence Force, as revealed in the Australian Financial Review (AFR) last week.

In the AFR article, AFUO Chair Kateryna Argyrou says, “Australia is the largest buyer of refined russian-origin fuel products in the world – it is a national disgrace.”

It’s time for accountability and action. Our Geelong protesters will be calling on Deputy Prime Minister Marles and the Albanese Government to:
Close the sanctions loophole allowing russian-derived fuel into Australia Ban fuel imports from refineries in third countries (like India and China) which use russian crude Require fuel giants like BP Australia, Ampol, Exxon-Mobile and Viva Energy to disclose and clean up their supply chains.
Since February 2023, Australia has sent over $2 billion straight into Putin’s war chest, more than Australia’s total aid to Ukraine!
