Ukrainian-Australian leaders, AFUO Chair Kateryna Argyrou, Ukrainian Council of NSW – ОУГ НПВ President Andrew Mencinsky, and Association of Ukrainians in Victoria Chair Eugene Hawryszko have been prominent across Australian media in recent days, responding to the Alaska summit and upcoming high-stakes meeting between President Zelenskyy and President Trump in Washington DC.
They have expressed the outrage of so many that President Trump rolled out the red carpet in Alaska for a bloody tyrant, genocidal aggressor and indicted war criminal.
They have exposed putin’s lies, reminded Australians of the horrific scale and barbarity of russia’s war, underscored that russian aggression cannot be rewarded, and emphasised that land is not just territory – it represents Ukrainian people, lives, and identity.
Their advocacy has been amplified by the strong, articulate voice of Ukraine’s Ambassador to Australia Vasyl Myroshnychenko, widely featured across Australian media.
Author and commentator Pete Shmigel also contributed with a compelling newspaper op ed.
Together, their efforts reached audiences nationwide through ABC TV, ABC Radio, SBS TV, The Guardian, The Australian Financial Review, Sky News, The Sydney Morning Herald, Channel 9, Channel 10, 2GB Sydney and 3AW Melbourne.
