The Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organisations (AFUO) thanks the Albanese Government for today’s commitment of $50 million to the International Fund for Ukraine.
The International Fund for Ukraine receives contributions from international partners to provide military equipment to Ukraine, and is administered by the United Kingdom’s Ministry of Defence.
We are grateful for this military assistance and strong sign of support for Ukraine as it seeks to defend democracy, the rules-based order and global stability.
We also thank the Government for their call on Russia to immediately withdraw from Ukrainian territory.
It is only through continued support from Ukraine’s international partners, including Australia, that Ukraine will be able to secure victory, peace and freedom.
We look forward to continuing to work with the Government to achieve this.
