A pop-up exhibition by Lithuanian-Australian artist Rimas Kabaila at the International Flag Display in Canberra last week was a stark reminder of the atrocities committed by russia since February 2022 in its genocidal war on Ukraine.
Memorial plaques – engraved with a tryzub and the name of individual sites of russian brutality and genocide – feature a deadly and chilling list.

Attended by the Ukrainian Ambassador Vasyl Myroshnychenko and his wife Liana, Fr Michael Solomko from the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, the Friends of Ukraine Canberra-Queanbeyan and members of the local Ukrainian and Lithuanian communities, the exhibition has been displayed outside the russian embassy, Parliament House and in country towns including Gundagai, Lockhart, Hay, Brewarrina, Walgett, Parkes and Cowra.
