A compelling video has been posted by the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine highlighting Russia’s kidnapping of 20,000 Ukrainian children from occupied territories.
In the video, 8-year-old Valya is forcibly taken to Russia, given up for adoption, deprived of speaking her native tongue and subjected to the ideology of ‘ruscism’ – the hatred of everything Ukrainian. She dreams of returning to Ukraine and being reunited with her family.
The entire world must join forces to make these children’s dreams come true. Less than 400 children have been successfully repatriated to date.
The AFUO joins the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence in calling for the world’s support to locate and return each kidnapped child. And we endorse the actions of the International Criminal Court to bring Putin and Maria Lvova-Belova to justice by issuing warrants for their arrest for war crimes.
