
Kateryna Argyrou works as a Portfolio Manager for a leading Australian funds management company with over $10bn in assets under management. Kateryna is responsible for the firm’s Real Estate portfolio. Prior to her current role, Kateryna was the Head of Australian Real Estate equities research at a global investment bank.
Kateryna was born in Ukraine, spent her childhood in Canada, and moved to Australia in 2012. She graduated with honours from the George Washington University and the London School of Economics. Alongside her corporate career in funds management, Kateryna is actively involved in the Ukrainian community in Australia. In her volunteering capacity, Kateryna is Chair of the Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organisations (AFUO), the peak body representing the Ukrainian diaspora in Australia. Kateryna is also Co-Founder & Director of the Australia-Ukraine Chamber of Commerce (AUCC) and humanitarian aid charities Future Ukraine and Ukraine Crisis Appeal (UCA).
Kateryna played a key role in advocating for visas for Ukrainians displaced by russia’s war, ultimately culminating in a pathway to permanent residency in Australia. Kateryna regularly appears in Australian, Ukrainian and international media, raising awareness about local community initiatives and advocating for support for Ukraine.
In October 2024, the Foreign Ministry of the russian federation imposed personal sanctions against Kateryna for “holding anti-russia views” and “unleashing campaigns against russia”. In April 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andrij Sybiha, appointed Kateryna as the Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Sydney, NSW.
