Support democracy and human rights for Ukraine
on Tuesday 4th February 2014.
Melbourne Ukrainians are taking to the streets in protest against the Yanukovych regime and demanding support form the Australian Government
To show solidarity and support for Ukrainians in Kyiv and across Ukraine, the meeting will gather at the Treasury Gardens to march down to Collins Street to the City Square to pray for peace and end to violence.
A rally will then be held at the City Square with speakers and a prayer vigil.
When: Tuesday 4th February 2014 @ 5:30pm
Where: Meet at the Treasury Gardens, Spring Street Melbourne (adjacent to Parliament House – top of Collins Street)
What to wear: Wear Ukrainian blue any yellow colours or vyshyvka (embroidered shirts and blouses). Girls and ladies wear floral vinky (floral head garland).
What to bring: Bring along Ukrainian flags and banners. We will have banners and flags but bring your own as well.
There will be head bands with “HELP” handed out to participants.
We invite you, your friends and as many people as possible to join us. Bring along your Australian friends!
