EABC Business Roundtable with
His Excellency Mr Petro Poroshenko, President of Ukraine

On Friday 12 December the Council was honoured to host a Business Roundtable in partnership with Thales Australia on the occasion of the visit of HE Mr Petro Poroshenko, President of Ukraine.

The Council very much appreciates this opportunity and hope there are opportunities to follow this up with a visit to Ukraine in the future.

In his address President Poroshenko spoke of the enormous challenges faced by Ukraine due the annexation and occupation of much of its territory, but reaffirmed the his commitment to an ambitious agenda to transform the country through liberal and democratic reform.

The President gave an inspiring account of the resilience and determination of the Ukrainian people, the strong bonds forged with Australia in the aftermath of the MH17 atrocity, and his ardent desire to see Australia and Ukraine become close political and economic partners.

The Council was pleased to have many senior members of the Council present and particularly extends thanks to Chris Jenkins, Stephen Loosley and Thales Australia for co-hosting the event; to Peter Shmigel and Stefan Romaniw of the Australian Ukrainian Federation; and to Joerg Bockeler and the team at the InterContinental Sydney.
