The 2nd World Judo Championship for Cadets (boys and girls under the age of 17 years) will be held in Kyiv, Ukraine, between the 11th and 14th of August 2011.
The Australian Cadets Judo Team will be representing Australia in this world championship.
The Australian team comprises of 26 members and includes young athletes, their coaches, team officials, and some escorting parents.
This is a truly all Australian team with athletes from:
- VIC: 2 athletes
- ACT: 2 athletes
- NSW: 6 athletes
- QLD: 3 athletes
- WA: 1 athlete
- SA: 1 athlete
The Judo Federation of Australia, supported by the Australian Sports Commission, sees this visit as an opportunity to strengthen the cultural relationship between the two countries.
The team will be arriving in Kyiv on Monday, August 8th, 2011 and will be under a very tight training schedule. During the two days leading to the competition the young Australian athletes will be training at the Sports Palace in Kyiv.
