A pioneering program funded by the AFUO’s Ukraine Crisis Appeal (UCA) Resettlement Fund has provided over 50 recently arrived Ukrainian women with much needed mental health support.
The Women’s Circle (Zhinoche Kolo) program provides group talk therapy, trauma informed yoga, and nature-based retreats and workshops run by professional counsellors, Australian-Ukrainians Cristina Caldis and Dasha Braiko. Read more about the program.
The program is just one of those funded by the UCA Resettlement Fund to help ‘bridge the gap’ in available support services for displaced Ukrainian people in Australia. Programs have included camp and sports classes for children, emergency financial aid and visa support.
Backed by many years of experience in integrating Ukrainian refugees and migrants into Australia, the AFUO’s UCA team are ideally placed to understand the needs of newly arrived Ukrainians.
Help us to support Ukrainian displaced people in Australia, so they can build a life away from a cruel war.
