On Thursday 7th November, the powerful documentary “The Cranes Call” was shown at a special “preview” screening in Melbourne, with attendees including Ukrainian Ambassador Vasyl Myroshnychenko and members of the Melbourne Ukrainian hromada.
Funded by the Clooney Foundation for Justice and Minderoo Pictures, the documentary tells the heart-pounding story of a mission to secure accountability for russian war crimes in Ukraine, and the challenges that war crime investigators face when collecting evidence and identifying the perpetrators.
The screening was followed by a short Q & A with the director, Laura Werner, and the war crimes investigators who feature in the film, Anya Neista and Solomiia Stasiv.
Many thanks to Clooney Foundation for Justice and Minderoo Pictures for supporting this important film and Ukrainians’ fight for justice.
