The Nazareth rehabilitation program has proudly announced that the sports complex the AFUO’s Ukraine Crisis Appeal has been financially assisting with equipment and renovations is to be named after our dearly departed leader Stefan Romaniw OAM.
Partnered with AFUO’s Ukraine Crisis Appeal since 2019, the Nazareth rehabilitation program has been a beacon of hope, offering a comprehensive support program that includes family counselling and specialised rehabilitation. Since the full-scale russian invasion in 2022, it has also become a refuge for displaced people.
The new sports complex will not only enhance physical and psychological recovery through specialised therapeutic spaces for veterans and their families, but will also foster community and resilience – reflecting †Stefan’s love of sport and unwavering commitment and staunch support of empowering those in need, especially our brave defenders and veterans.
Stefan visited Nazareth several times, and on each occasion was impressed by their programs and their team’s compassion. He described it as “Jesus’s work”.
Stefan’s legacy will continue to inspire and uplift the efforts of the Ukrainian community in Australia and worldwide in fostering victory, peace and prosperity for Ukraine.
