Join this fascinating hybrid webinar event at 6:00pm AEST Wednesday May 15 to hear Dr Michael Lawriwsky explore how Russia’s propaganda narrative has shaped Western perceptions of its war on Ukraine.
Hosted by the AIIA (Australian Institute of International Affairs) Victoria, Dr Michael Lawriwsky will explore Russia’s propaganda narrative in the 2014-2021 period, how these early PR successes emboldened Putin to launch his full-scale invasion of Ukraine, and how the propaganda tide was turned by Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s response, Ukrainians’ courageous resistance and how the Russian army has behaved.
How are we to continue to respond to Russian propaganda narratives? What more can Ukraine & Ukrainian allies do to demonstrate Russia’s genocidal intentions and the necessity of immediate aid for the safety of world peace?
Dr Michael Lawriwsky, is an author, former chair of the Ukrainian Studies Foundation at Monash University, former editor for the Australian Ukrainian Review, and a former trustee of Melbourne’s Shrine of Remembrance. His career has included positions in academia, investment banking and consulting.
