Future Ukraine, a new fund dedicated to helping Ukrainians impacted by russia’s full-scale invasion rebuild their country – and their future – has been launched by the Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organisations (AFUO).
Featuring DGR status and fully tax deductible donations, Future Ukraine will contribute to targeted projects in the fields of rehabilitation, reconstruction, leadership, education and public information, as well as in disaster relief.
Since its formation in December 2022, Future Ukraine has been the beneficiary of over $5 million AUD from Australian businesses, philanthropists and individual supporters, including Atlassian, Garnaut Private Wealth, The Howarth Foundation, Roberts Pike Foundation and TDM Foundation.
Future Ukraine is complementary to the AFUO’s Ukrainian Crisis Appeal – which is directed at providing emergency relief and humanitarian aid to Ukraine – and the AFUO’s Defend Ukraine Appeal, which raises funds for life-saving aid for Ukrainian defenders.
Future Ukraine’s three Directors – Stefan Romaniw OAM, Kateryna Argyrou and Jarema Polatajko – are drawn from the Board of the AFUO to ensure strategic alignment.
The directors today announced “It is a testament to the strength and dynamism of our community that we have been able to support Ukraine at this critical time via the creation of three fundraising charities providing millions of dollars of assistance to Ukraine.
“We thank everyone in our community for supporting our fundraising efforts and look forward to continuing to work together to help Ukraine to victory.
