The Endeavour Group yesterday announced it was removing products of Russian origin from their stores, hotels and online businesses, including Dan Murphy’s, BWS, Cellarmasters and ALH hotels.
Mr Stefan Romaniw, Co-Chair of the Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organisations (AFUO), has called on other Australian retailers to follow with a #BoycottRussia campaign.
‘Retailers can follow the lead of the Endeavour Group and stop funding the Russian war against Ukraine by pulling all Russian-made or branded products from their shelves, including Russian vodkas such as Beluga, Russian Standard, Green Mark, Moskovskaya and Stolichnaya. Every possible signal needs to be sent to Putin and the Russian leadership that the world condemns what Russia is doing, ‘ said Mr Romaniw.
‘All trade with Russia needs to be reviewed to apply maximum pressure on Putin to stop his murderous and brutal invasion of Ukraine. These actions are in line with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) obligations on businesses,’ said Mr Romaniw.
Three young Sydney-siders, Max O’Keefe, Ella O’Shea and Seb Richardson poured out Russian vodka on the street outside BWS Erskenville today.
‘We don’t want to support war. Everyone can do something to protest the Russian invasion of Ukraine. We don’t want to buy Russian vodka any more’ said Max O’Keefe.
