Terror in Ukraine as russia launches massive air attacks – damages St Sophia Cathedral and strikes a maternity hospital in Odesa.
On June 10, russia launched more than 300 drones and missiles against Ukraine, striking cities across the country.
In Kyiv, the precious and ancient UN World Heritage protected St Sophia Cathedral was damaged; in Odesa the strikes hit a maternity hospital. Other targets included an emergency medical aid station, a medical clinic, a sports complex, a railway station building and a zoo. At least three civilians have been killed and many more wounded.
The latest wave of massive air strikes came just one day after russia launched its largest aerial assault since the start of the invasion of the war—firing 479 missiles and drones as Ukraine prepared to welcome home its brave prisoners of war.
Ukraine’s air defences intercepted many of the attacks, but damage was reported in 10 regions, with more lives and homes at risk every day. President Zelenskyy is urgently calling for air defence support.
