In collaboration with the office of the Minister for Immigration and Multicultural Affairs, Tony Burke, the AFUO was super proud to help organise interviews for The Sun Herald newspaper and Channel 9 News this week about the momentous decision made by the Australian Government to grant a permanent residency pathway for displaced Ukrainians.
Nika Kovalenko and Ksenia Vereszczak (and their families) will be featured in stories to be published/broadcast tomorrow. They had candid chats with the journalists about their experiences since arriving in Australia, what it’s been like balancing their studies while navigating visa uncertainty, and how this decision has given them hope for a secure future.
The AFUO congratulates all our displaced Ukrainians, who all have similar stories and have shown resilience and strength whilst adjusting to living, studying and working in a new country.
