In response to the egregious attack in Kryvyi Rih that killed 20 people, including 9 children, the Ukrainian Embassy in Australia flew the flag at half mast yesterday.
The latest attack, one of the thousands Ukrainians have endured over the past 3 years, serves as a stark reminder of the barbarity and cruelty of the russian regime. This attack, in particular, stands as the deadliest attack we have witnessed in months.
The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, called on Sunday for an investigation into the russian attack.
And the target of russia’s ballistic missiles? A densely populated residential area, including a children’s playground.
More than 2,500 children have been killed or injured since February 2022 and at least 20,000 children (documented) have been abducted and deported to russia. These crimes are utterly reprehensible and inexcusable.
We offer our deepest condolences and prayers to the victims and families of this atrocious terrorist attack, and to all civilians and defenders who have lost their lives as a result of russia’s unjust and illegal war.
We will never forget.
