With sadness we mark one year since the sudden passing of 
Stefan Romaniw OAM, our beloved community leader, brother, and friend (1955 – 2024).
In advocacy for Ukraine and cultural preservation – Stefan was a titan. He was an admired role model and mentor to so many in Australia and around the world.
The AFUO Board extends our love and appreciation to Stefan’s wife Anastasia, his children Pete and Teresa, and his grandchildren for sharing him with us. He was and remains a pillar and inspiration to the Australian-Ukrainian community and global diaspora for his steadfast commitment and resolve in fighting for a free Ukraine.
Memorial services are being held to honour the life and legacy of Stefan in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and Canberra/Queanbeyan.
